Welcome to the 2016 Jack's Generic Triathlon!

Jack's Generic Triathlon was founded by Jack Murray in 2003, at a time when he thought many triathlons had forgotten about the participants. Events had become so focused on getting big sponsors, accommodating pro athletes, and trying to look good that they sometimes neglected the actual product - the race. Athletes ended up paying more, but their racing experience was actually less. Jack had the idea to put on a race with very little pomp & circumstance, yet at the core be a great race. It would be well organized, safe, good value, and of course, fun. It reminded him of the generic isle at the supermarket: It's the same quality products, sometimes even better, but you don't have to pay for the fancy packaging. And hence, the name Jack's Generic Triathlon was born.

Today, the event has a lot more fancy packaging, but at its core it is still all about the participants. Each edition is designed, planned, and priced with you, the everyday at the forefront of the experience.

Age Group

The minimum age to participate in this event is 14.

The Open division is available to any participant in the intermediate distance event. The open wave will be the first to start. Participants are encouraged to enter this wave if they expect to be in the top 50 finishers, but anyone is welcome. Participants in the open wave will not be eligible for age group awards or USAT rankings. The open division exists so that the age group waves are more friendly, and so that participants who are interested in competing head to head, regardless of age, may do so.

Awards to the top 3 overall males and females in the open division, and overall masters male & female.
Awards will also be presented to the top 3 male and female in each age group, starting at 19 & Under and going to 75+ in 5 year increments.
Awards will be presented to the top 3 male and female in the Aquabike Division.
Awards will be presented to the top team in each relay division.

Finish Line Festival

The finish line carnival is open to all participants and spectators. Participants will receive free hot food and drinks, as well as other treats. Food & drink for spectators may be available for purchase, and may be free at some vendors. Free water will be available for everyone.
